FareShare East Midlands is not a 'one size fits all' organisation. There are many different ways we support communities in our region.
According to the government, more than a million people in the East Midlands live in poverty and struggle to feed themselves and their families. These are the people our Members are trying to support.

Waste is a huge problem in the UK, with more than 300,000 tonnes of great food thrown away annually. Our goal is to redirect as much of this food as possible, so people in need can be fed.
Almost 60% of the organisations we work with, particularly charities and community groups, would not be able to survive without the support of FareShare East Midlands. By accessing our surplus foods, they are able to save thousands of pounds every year. And often, these savings really make the difference, allowing them to stay open and continue making the vital and tangible contribution to the communities they are committed to serving. For without us, many could not stay open.

Food poverty is a huge problem in cities like Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and Lincoln, and big towns like Northampton – particularly among people aged 18 and under. At FareShare East Midlands, we are passionate about redirecting this food, so people who are going hungry, particularly young people, are able to receive at least one nutritious meal every day of the week. How can you help?
